We took a hiatus from roasting oysters this year which has been an annual tradition since 2005. Then it rained for the first time in 11 years on this night.
Clearly clairvoyant.
For an artist whose work appears incredibly minimal or extremely intricate (or both?), but either way, puts a LOT of work into their work - like fingers to the bone, "the no-hands award" goes to Andres Bedoya.
Hope your mitts are on the mend. Great showing at Gonzalez y Gonzalez at Untitled Art Fair.
Mother Nature at it again!
What a gift to find this most amazing couple when I chose their house and gardens to document (trespassing). Janet works as an iconographer. Reggie makes sculptures and photographs. Many years ago, they founded the Paseo Arts District Festival. The Paseo is also home to SixTwelve and the 612 x 912 residency.
It's difficult not to see meaning within the fact that on my first night in OKC, I choose their gardens to trespass, that their name is love and that without an appointment, they welcomed us.
the most divine cactus garden thrives near the paseo arts district.
Mother Nature remains the best painter and engineer. This magnolia bloom smelled so strongly and its petals stood as a model for the most luxurious bridal silk.
Just presh!
March: In and out like a lion.
April: Welcome. Be sweet!
what a wild ride this one! so much work, so much fun; full canter the entire time.
I've posted 2,055 times over these seven years starting on November 1st, 2006. That's crazy - like life. It's been a full gallop of ups and downs - haha (haha as George Saunders would write). Thank goodness for the full entertainment and engagement of looking at world, thinking about it and, of course, making stuff. I'm so content to work and live on this little farm for another seven. No seventh inning stretch. No itch.

Much gratitude to those that inspire, teach, lead, challenge and spur me on a daily basis (with some of you working it on a minute to minute basis).
